Enlarged glands are a frequent reason for visiting your Paediatrician.
A careful history and examination, combined with blood tests can usually identify the
reason.
Reassuringly most causes are easy to manage and need simple interventions &
follow up. In some instances however, the condition may be more complex.
Swellings
If you note a new swelling in your child, its understandable to be concerned.
A medical opinion should be sought quite soon.
A Paediatrician is usually best placed to outline the treatment.
In some instances an onward referral to another specialist or transfer of care onto
the NHS may be necessary.
