Paediatric Experience

I have a broad and sound knowledge of Paediatrics with a special interest in Paediatric Epilepsy and High Dependency care.

  • I have a special interest in management of children with Epilepsy and have level 2 PET (Paediatric Epilepsy training) competence.

Paediatric High Dependency care

  • I am leading the development of a Paediatric High Dependency care Unit at Darent Valley Hospital.
  • For this project, I have been selected as an “Innovation Practitioner” by the NHS institute for Innovation.

General Paediatrics & Neonatology

  • I have 2 clinics per week where I see new referrals as well as follow ups.
  • With reconfiguration in the health care services in South East London; we are expecting an increase in our workload and opportunities. We are in the process of expanding our neonatal unit accordingly.

  • I am the lead for clinical audit at Darent Valley Hospital.
  • Audit topics are selected based upon current National Audits and risk issues facing the directorate.

Guideline development

  • I have written several evidence-based guidelines to improve practice. I continue to review unit guidelines and perform regular audits. These include guidelines on surfactant usage, neonatal transfer and copying letters to parents.

I am an accredited “Innovation Practitioner” from the NHS Institute of Innovation
